To experience the vibrant free state life around you, allow yourself to be led through the animal pens and experience the big cats up close and personal.

Watch the birdlife, oblivious to your presence, from our outside deck overlooking the waterhole. You could even sleep out under the stars while nocturnal life continues around your secure, elevated deck.

The outside viewing deck is ideal elevated position to provide panoramic views of the sweeping grasslands, which roll out towards the horizon, surrounded by a breathtaking skyline. The grass embankment is the ideal place to soak up the African sun, while enjoying the idyllic scenery.

Find tranquillity in Clarens, as the crisp air fills your lungs and the vast mountainous beauty fills your horizons. This is a place where the rush of the commercial world disappears, this is a place where you can quietly spend the day practicing your Golf swing in trout-filled dams or spend the day site seeing.

If you are the more adventurous type you can spend your day participating in an
adrenalin-rush, white river raft excursion.

There are a great variety of adventure activities in the area which include: quad bike trails, paint ball, archery and horse riding excursions.

Our Mission

When you visit Cheetau Game Lodge, we aspire to allow you to experience the natural beauty and serenity of the area, while taking in the exhilarating wildlife, ancient legends and rich cultural history of the Eastern Free State.

We want you to relax and revitalise your body and mind. Clear out stress and strain of everyday life and settle in to a well deserved rest in ourlayed-back yet luxurious interiors, that tastefully enhance the atmosphere of comfort in this idyllic environment.

We endeavour to ensure that each guest has privacy and individual attention. For that reason we have designed Cheetau Lodge to effortlessly blend with the surrounding bush and consists of a beautiful main building and only 5 stunning suites, which allows us to attend to your needs on a personal basis.

We aim to offer you complete peace of mind during your function, what ever it may be! Which will leave you free to enjoy your event with your guests. We would like your function to achieves a 'sense of occasion' that you and your guests will long remember.

Special events must be, as the name suggests, special. Our superb food and beverages, exemplary service and themed ambience will guarantee your event's success.

What you can expect!

At Cheetau Game Lodge we offer you the unique experience of seeing some of the most beautiful wild cats, white lions, Bengal tigers, leopards and even wild dogs, up close and personal.

Accommodation
Our self-catering units are equipped with fridge, kettle, electric blankets and heaters (for those cold winter nights) and a selection of DSTV channels. Our restaurant offers a full English breakfast, served at a time that suits you, our guest; and small pub lunches can be enjoyed on the sundeck overlooking the dam; or sipping those cocktails while admiring the sunsets that you will only experience at Cheetau.

Functions
We can assist you with any function you require for a maximum of 60 people, whether a small intimate get-together, work function or wedding reception, we will be able to help you.
